SKV - even I used to wonder why Kamal does not bother about these things - and then I happened to watch a recent interview of his - one of the questions about the books he has read recently or intends to read - Kamal mentions Richard Dawkins' "The God Delusion", "The Greatest Show on Earth" and "The selfish gene" !! my eyes popped !

On the one hand, he reads history, from back home - sithhar paadalgal, puraanam etc etc - and he has mentioned Gibbons in another interview - historian Gibbons' books on the Roman empire, contain such thoroughly researched material on several aspects of Roman history as well as Christianity, which are not even mentioned in the Bible (Old or New Testaments) - one small ex: just like the sitthars of TN, there were equivalent middle-east sitthars amongst the early gnostics!

this man (KH) reads these books and also Dawkins' amazing books that criticize the ritualistic, blind beliefs inherent in faiths/religions and talks about evolution etc etc.

for a man to read such a diverse amount of literature, it is not surprising that his worldview has been so exquisitely fashioned to something sublime enough that I wouldnt be surprised that he would sooner or later arrive at the inferences/observations that someone like me has arrived at after reading similar stuff - and thus it is not surprising that he makes a film like 'anbe sivam' or a 'hey ram' or a 'vr'

most relevant to our topic, I dont think Kamal either bothers as much about the BO reports, or the material gains - most importantly, for someone to be reading all these books, he would NOT HAVE THE TIME FOR publicizing his films BO success ! simple matter of logistics thats all
