Little do people know that Rajinikanth, who is referred to as Thalaiva, attributes all his filmi success to Rama Shama Bhama actor Kamal Haasan. Rajini, who recently said Kamal Haasan attained the status of a legend very early in life, also mentioned that he entered the industry looking up to the actor.

Rajinikanth, who is known to be humble despite his super stardom, also mentioned that he would not stir from his place when Kamal was acting. If he was on the sets of Kamal's film, he would sit patiently through the entire shot just to see Kamal act. Rajini also revealed a secret about their friendship. He said it was Kamal who adviced him that they should be friends irrespective of what the fraternity of their fans say. While many legends, who enter the industry as good friends, fall out after they attain success, Rajini and Kamal have probably stayed strong because of Kamal's advice.

Kamal Haasan seems to share a special bond too with Rajinikanth. Both of them are probably the only actors in the country who are very close friends despite their fame. Rajinikanth concluded by saying that they never tried to ruin the other's career, but respected each other's work.
