Because Biriyani and Vidiyum Mun were already running in that theatre and it is easy to replace with an already ran film than a new film (agreement bargain will take time) .

And also if same movie releases in all screens in same theatre, they will be allowed to run only for first weekend. Thats how distributors sign. This rule applies for small theatres in same area (eg : vettri theatre area). Small theatres will remove movie after first weekend.
