The breaded and the shaven looks are to differentiate and bring in the ruggedness and the softness visually. Vinayakam is a single dimensional character. He is what he is. He has his rage meter and whenever evil things shoot up he moves in. After falling for Tamana, he takes the other responsibility path parallel from one of his own hand made philosophy of sacrificing one's format of life for the sake of the other and gain harmony - initially he refused marriage for this particular reason. While trying to move on with it after the train attack episode, he learns the truth about the betrayal of Tamana, and as a guy who does not hesitate to stand against injustice, he readily wants to apologize for the mistake of his brothers to which is he responsible indirectly. So, he takes a cultured path - the presentation of oneself - while addressing a respected family, and yes, Tamana's angelic love did take an effect on his personality - comes for free when you are in love. That explains the shaven getup.

In both cases, it does not project the physical modification, but solemnly the motive. In Devar Magan, that transformation is set to indicate that Kamal is taking over Sivaji's path. Here there is no such hierarchical path, but just a submission of a good man, who has come to a limit of his own tired life form.

And here is where Siva uses the change to his fullest by bringing in the villain. He traps the character Vinnayakam between 2 large decision driven situations - How far a man can go to protect his own VS how well a man can fight his own battle between moral and principle.

So the 2 getup are apt wrt to the visual narration of a story. And betterment just for the sake of it, would have taken away the charm from the narration and would have settled down as a 'fanfare'. But I totally understand any fan's enthusiasm to see their idol in a form they wish to - I welcome that and I rejoice with them about that idea. I just give an explanation wrt to the content in the film and not as a reply to your likeness.

ஒரு மாஸ் ஹீரோவுக்கு எப்படி காட்சிகள் அமைக்க வேண்டும் என்பதை சிவாவிடம் இளம் இயக்குநர்கள் கற்றுக் கொள்ள வேண்டும். ஒவ்வொரு காட்சியையும் அப்படி கச்சிதமாக அமைத்திருக்கிறார். பிரதீப் ராவத் தன் தம்பிகளை துரத்தும்போது, ஆல மர ஊஞ்சலில் சாவகாசமாய் ஆடிக் கொண்டு, பின்னர் தம்பிகளுக்கும் சண்டை சொல்லிக் கொடுத்து எதிரிகளைப் புரட்டியெடுப்பாரே அஜீத்... அடேங்கப்பா, பிரமாதம். தொன்னூறுகளில் ரஜினி படங்களில் பார்த்தவைதான் என்றாலும், இப்போது மீண்டும் பார்க்கும்போது நன்றாகத்தான் உள்ளது!




வெற்றியின் ஒளிப்பதிவு மிகக் கச்சிதம். ரசிகர்களை ஆரம்பத்திலிருந்து கடைசி வரை ஒரு திருவிழா மனநிலையிலேயே வைத்ததில் இவரது கேமராவுக்கும் தேவி ஸ்ரீ பிரசாதின் பின்னணி இசைக்கும் பெரும் பங்குள்ளது. இரண்டு பாடல்கள் பரவாயில்லை.


அஜீத்தை ஒரு இயக்குநராக மட்டும் பார்க்காமல், அவரது ரசிகராகவும் பார்த்ததால்தான் தன்னால் இப்படி ஒரு திரைக்கதையை எழுத முடிந்தது என்றார் இயக்குநர் சிவா. அது நூறு சதவீதம் உண்மை. அஜீத் போன்ற மாஸ் ஹீரோக்களை, முதலில் ரசிக்கத் தெரிந்தால்தான் அவர்களுக்கான அட்டகாசமான திரைக்கதையை ஒரு படைப்பாளியால் உருவாக்க முடியும். அந்த வகையில் வீரம்... செம மாஸ்.. பொங்கல் பண்டிகை உற்சாகத்தை ஒரு படி அதிகமாக்கியிருக்கிறது!
