After 4 days in the running, Jilla has headed into the long Pongal holiday period on the back of a really solid weekend. The opening has been fantastic to say the least, thanks to the star power, the big banner involved and of course the role played by Vijay fans in generating such feverish hype and frenzy in the online space.
When we take into account, the collections from all around India, Jilla has reportedly grossed a total in the range of 34 to 35 crores at the end of 4 days. We have assimilated this information from various reliable trade sources.
The performance has been extra-ordinary in Kerala, where Jilla generated the biggest ever opening for any film in the state.
In Tamil Nadu, the film is holding on well all over the state, with good reviews from Vijay fans and family audiences. In circuits such as Madurai and Tirunelveli, Jilla is doing particularly well and the collections are expected to remain steady all through the coming weekend.

Vijay's "Jilla" and Ajith's "Veeram" has rocked the Indian box office in its opening weekend.
Both films, which released on 10 January, have been performing well at the box office thanks to the presence of big stars like Ajith, Vijay and Mohanlal. "Veeram" and "Jilla" made a good opening on the first day of its release in India. The films are performing equally well in certain markets.
However, when taking into account the overall first weekend collections from India, "Jilla" has raced ahead of "Veeram". According to reports, "Jilla" earned ₹20 crore nett in the first weekend at the Indian box office, whereas "Veeram" has fetched ₹17.8 crore.
But "Veeram" business was higher than "Jilla" in Tamil Nadu. The Ajith starrer has reportedly minted ₹15.5 crore nett in the state, while "Jilla" raked in ₹14.5 crore nett during the opening weekend. [Note: The screen count for both the films varies]
The success of "Veeram" and "Jilla" has been neck-to-neck in Karnataka and the rest of India. However, the Kerala market has played a major role in putting "Jilla" ahead of "Veeram" in its opening weekend collections.
The presence of Mohanlal and Vijay (who also enjoys a good fan following in Kerala) has worked in favour of "Jilla" in the state. The action-packed entertainer, which released in more than 200 screens, took a fantastic opening on the first day of its release. The film raked in ₹1.95 crore nett (₹2.6 crore gross) on the debut day, which is an all-time record. Its three-day collections stand at approximately ₹4 crore (nett). But "Veeram" has not performed that well and earned approximately ₹0.9 crore in three days at the Kerala box office.
On the whole, both films are performing exceptionally well and are turning out to be big hits. They are likely to continue their business till the end of January as there are no big Tamil releases.

Intro Song -Good steps & awesome music. Colorful start to the film... Started liking this song only after i saw visuals !
Verasa Pogayile - Well choreographed... Vijay's costume was slick. Between his kutty thoppai was well visible in thatThalaivaa military meals again i say !! Kajal perusa solvadharku onnum illai... Don't know why !!
Jingunamani - Gud beats and gimpajak gilmas provided the needed entertainmentmy pick of the entire film ! Wasn't hooked with it when audio was released though my fav sunidhi sang it, the visuals enhanced my mood of listening to it again & again.
Kandaangi - Could have been better. A village background would have been apt with kajal in kandaangi saree.
Yeppa Maama Treatu -Bad choreography.Didn't kinda like it... Costumes were also not nice... Interrupted flow of movie...

guys update me ,10 mnts trimed nu sonanga.but whts the present movie running time. i personally feel triming to 10 minutes will be definitly racy and it also avoid negatives too ie lengthy.

When there was so much happening right from day 1 to decide the winner based on reviews from amateur writers, ratings from Twitter residents and Chennai BO numbers from Behindwoods, why suddenly slow down and Wait?
It should be NOW, that the numbers have to be validated and compared.
Back to the ‘Ulloor Parrupu’ section,
Except for Chennai BO numbers from Behindwoods (whose numbers are disputable), all other numbers are from organized markets and reliable sources are in favor of Jilla.
Even if Behindwoods have to be trusted and included in overall calculations, the all-India numbers from Behindwoods point to a ‘3’ Crore difference in favor of Jilla. The 3-day numbers from CinemaLead pointed to a ‘4’ Crore difference Worldwide and now Behindwoods ‘3’ crore India difference is for 4 days.
The ‘Ulloor Parrupu’ looks well-cooked to me.

Ayangaran and Boss Siva
I see a certain Ayngaran comparative chart attached atleast once in every page of a particular thread. Ayngaran is a distributor for both the movies and was being ridiculed for favoring Jilla and taking Vijay's side. Ayangaran has presented (or we may never know) some numbers in an unconfirmed/not verified Facebook page of theirs. If their views from their unofficial Facebook page, as distributors and as Vijay's right hand have to be taken seriously then the comments from Boss Siva who is also a distributor needs to be taken serious too. He seems to suggest Jilla is sustaining-big in his areas in TN ahead of any other Pongal release. Both have the same level of reliability.
JILLA, despite attempts to create an ‘Aalwar’ out of it is leading the first-week battle. Forget Mission Aalwar. It is done and dusted now. At best, it could be a Dheena-Friends verdict where both movies end up being commercially successful. But if you insist on a ‘Winner’ here, the first week clearly belongs to JILLA, which kind of puts the ‘KING OF OPENING’ tag into perspective.

hi cedyblue, i live in australia... jilla got released here 10th of january. my uncle is in tamil society...he knows everything..he involves in this film buying and selling business.
these information are not correct...anybody can write or talk as they want...
and we can question every details here..nothing is true... all is just approximate guessing details..
