Yeah but in this interview he specifically said the budget given to him by the new producer was limited (slightly more than Kaaka Kaaka) and he managed to complete the movie with it. I don't remember where I read it.

K.Vishwanath made three movies with Kamal, low in budget & high in quality. The first two were very successful in Telugu and Tamil. Subha Sankalpam, the third was a big hit in Andhra. The Tamil version, Paasa Valai, though was not as successful as the other two, ran for more than 50 days in AVM Rajeshwari, Devi Paradise. Normally, Telugu dubbed movies (except some rare cases like Vyjayanthi IPS, Idhu Dhaan Da Police, Naan E, Maaveeran) do not run more than a week in TN. And there's absolutely nothing TN audience can connect to, in Paasa Valai, which is a movie about Andhra fishermen. Still it managed to do well, for Kamal.

Watched some scenes from Rama Shama Bhama (Kannada remake of Sathi Leelavathy). Ramesh Aravind, to my surprise, seems to be Kannada cinema's P.Vasu/S.P. Muthuraman
The movie is a diluted(with added masala) version of Balu Mahendra's Sathi Leelavathy. Subtle comic scenes are stretched and made to reach the front bench mahajanangal.

In General Kannada movies are mostly of like this only.. Moreover it is not correct to compare Ramesh Aravind with Balu Mahendra..

Any movies involving foreign shooting, budget should be quite high. SO that rules out VV, MMA, Dasa etc.
Sorry, typo meant Unnai-pol-oruvan
Probably the best in recent times.
- AnbeSivam - medium budget, critically acclaimed but BO flop.
- Guna - med budget, critically acclaimed but flop.
- Unnal-mudiyum-thambi - med budget, average, not a big winner but good songs and message.
- Kalaigyan - sumaar movie and BO flop.

Yeah but initially I thought RA would have retained the class in RSB. However, I still found those scenes funny. Many of the additional comedy lines and chaplinesque gimmicks must have been included by KH himself. And KH-Urvashi chemistry
