jilla = veeram= pretty average stuff...dont kno when our stars gonna comes out from these so called masala movies...when comes to jilla i am very movie dint become blockbuster so that vijay wont continue doing this kind of movies..i want vijay to do quality commercial entertainers like thupakki, arun vijay's thadayara thakka or some thing new...vijay body language and voice modulation in some scenes really irritating and poor...really feel bad to see good actor getting wasted...i am happy and really excited vijay has good lineups with good directors.....when comes to ajith he underplayed well but his look really not tolerable especially one without beard..he may lose women and children fans if he continues with it

I have tried consolidating the list of theaters in Chennai and Chennai Suburbs (excluding Satellite towns) and tracked the show count for Jilla and Veeram as on today's status (23-Jan-14). I know come tomorrow (Friday), the number of shows are going to come down big, but since today both the movie completes 3 weeks, i thought today's status would be a good indicator.

BM's post the other day on Chennai and 'some' suburbs and the subsequent calculation also encouraged me to look into how the Chennai/suburb distribution looks like.

Most of the information are from web sources and if i have missed some theaters or tagged wrongly or overlooked anything, please correct me.

    and the continuation

Jilla had a total of 168 shows in Chennai and its suburbs while Veeram had 185.

please stop saying mohanlal factor is the big thing fo jilla(as we know lal movies dint do well even in kerela except drishyam in recent past) if it so santhanam actor is the big thing for veeram...both movies solely depends on vijay and ajith..

You know, I agree with you that they should choose more movies with good contents but c'mon, movies like these once in awhile isn't so bad. I became a huge fan of Vijay after the movies like Thirumalai and sivakasi. Only after that I went back to watching his older stuff. There was a rumor that Vijay was going to completely stop doing mass entertainers after the Sura disaster. You wouldn't believe how heart broken I was. It is good to see him doing these type of movies but he should also choose mass movies with good qualities.
