Freedom, please don't get me wrong. That was just a general comment for the taunts on the overseas success right from the first day of release. If you need any more substance on the impact of the overseas markets on the general scheme of things, please do refer the posts about the overall collection by geography posted after week 1.

While as we all know, it is the TN performance that matters most. However, UK and all other overseas markets combined contribute to 20 to 25 percent of the total gross (especially in the first few weeks), which i think is very very significant.

A success is a success, no matter if it is in Chennai BO or UK BO. The impact on the overall success however varies.

Even normal posts/updates on overseas collection of the two movies by Vijay fans were received by taunts.

The difference in Overseas collections between Jilla and Veeram was close to 1.5 to 2 Crores(at the end of week 2), thanks largely to UK. This difference was more than the difference between the two releases in Chennai Box Office. Hope you get what i am trying to say.

We all know how Kerala was lop sided in the first 2 weeks and the difference ran in the range of 3-4 crores, which i think is almost equal or less than the difference that separated the two in overall TN BO, at the end of week 2.

The intention was never to over-post and over-project overseas collections on top of TN collections. Unfortunately, as we have discussed before these are organized markets which provide you numbers periodically and hence it was posted, as and when it was available.

At the end of the day everything matters and undermining UK or for that matter any other relatively smaller overseas markets may not be the right idea.
