Box Office Collections - Jilla vs Veeram

Both movies are hit. One is doing better business than the other.

I'm just talking about overseas collection in UK. I'm not talking about difference between Veeram Vs Jilla

The general comments did not stop with just UK, it also included Uganda, Somalia, Nigeria, Singapore and the likes. Hence i presumed the point of discussion was about the overseas market on the whole.

The difference between Jilla and Veeram was highlighted to show the importance of overseas markets, which was the context of our discussion.

It contributes what...may be 5% in overall scheme of things? What is point in gloating about Jilla and Thalaiva collections which look better than Thupaaki? We are not talking about a Bond Movie which depends on US or UK box office for the most part. We are looking at Paltry sums here looking at overall big picture

I guess, you have just not read what i wrote despite quoting it.

My points in my previous post were:

1. We were talking about Tamil Movies whose success depends largely on the TN performance and not any other movie
2. No one here is gloating about UK or any other overseas success, we are only tying to consider them while judging the overall performance of the movie

Same points.

Movie's success largely comes from its Run in TN (to a good extent Kerala, where Vijay hold a complete stronghold). Given by the similar run of Thalaiva in UK, it should have been a blockbuster, but we all know the fate.

The TN importance is indisputable. I think i have acknowledged that in my previous post.

What surprises me now is the inclusion of Kerala as a good measure/extend, when the collections from overseas markets combined is more than Kerala.

Freedom, let's put a stop to the overseas discussions now, because barring a few places, both the movies have completed their runs. I don't think there would be many updates about overseas BO from any sites, twitter pages from now on which means that no one would be posting anything in that regard.

We shall continue to follow the fortunes of the movies in the TN market though. Cheers!

Cedy there r lot of changes in third weekend for both the movies. . the difference is more now.. moreover in Satyam, AGS, Mayajaal the big screens playing Veeram.. so the difference is not just 17 shows now. ..

Few days before, I already posted the diff. betn. BO collection of both movies (for overseas) s jus 1.75 Cr. Nw Veeram s getting more preference than jilla, tat diff. (1.75 Cr) would be reduced nw.. tis s for ur info..
