most of these are repetitive / irritating questions.......... it is tough to be a celebrity and still keep your cool to such questions...rather be like our M.S.Dhoni...... switch off for questions such as this and give a cliché / repetitive answer

I think its Kamal's fault in under(over)estimating the society we live in especially TN under the Dravidian ruling. As if he lives in a fantasy world and assumes things go in a way he envisioned.

I'm not sure why some of his movies are termed controversial really! I mean -

Viswaroopam is about a patriotic Indian muslim who tries to do good to the international community by fighting against terrorism. If fighting against terrorism is controversial then well what can be said. This was more politically orchestrated than controversial esp. after the censor board cleared it.

HeyRam - About someone who gets personally affected during Indo-Pak partition times, gets wrongly opinionated about Mahatma Gandhi. Finally understands his folly and what MG is really about and tries to seek his pardon. As usual even w/o even fully understanding the movie, the man had to go through undue/unfair criticism all over the country. And top it with a loss as well.

Virumaandi/DevarMagan etc. - Tries to highlight needless castiest violence and other follies in our society. I don't understand the controversy there either ..

Any movie could be called controversial by some sections quoting any arbitrary reason. Even Dasa could be controversial for some Shaivites or Vaishnavites. It probably has ...

Kamal is a thinking man's artiste. By restricting him, we're curbing his artistic flow .. His movies need to be well understood before people just take off on him (ideally). Unfortunately considering the dynamics of our society, and Kamal's unfortunate ventures, anything he does now can come under the 'controversy' umbrella.
