The most popular of Nanda's movies must be Gumnaam (1965). At least that's where I recall seeing her first on screen (in Mannargudi, raj ). I don't think I knew much hindi then but the movie was really engrossing. Nanda seemed to fit the character well and helped give a handful of scares to the audience. I saw the movie again couple of times on tv during later days, and interestingly had the same observation. I couldn't help compare the tamil version here. Can't say much about the heroine there. I think Ravichandran also overacted and copied Manoj kumar's body language a lot. Anyway I have to admit both movies are classic thrillers..!

This, I think, is Ilaiyaraja's first Hindi film song... from Balu Mahendra's SADMA (1983),
the remake of MOONRAAM PIRAI. Here is Suresh Wadkar singing "ye zindagi gale laga le..."
Raja used this tune in the 1984 Tamil movie THAMBIKKU ENTHA OORU, with SPB singing for Rajni...
By the way, the song used in MOONRAAM PIRAI for the same situation was "poongaatru...":
