A fantastic bit of nostalgia and historical facts! As is your usual style, you have also taken the liberty to write parallel stories on all those legends like Bheemsing and Viswanathan Ramamurthy duo. It sure brought back fond memories.

I wish to add herein that Shivaji had stopped talking to SSR from the Veera Paandiyan Kattabomman days, the background which I am sure you are aware of. Although they had acted together in films like Deiva Pjravi, Patchai Vilakku, Kai Kodutha Deivam they were still not on talking terms. Only in 'Shanti' did they decide to 'let bygones be bygones'.

We would also appreciate if you could write on the 'Padaithaanae' song (Nitchiya Thamboolam 1961) which I always feel was the forerunner to 'Yaar andha Nilavu' and 'Engey Nimmadhi' songs. It was also an extended play song with novel picturisation but, for unexplained reasons, it has been grossly neglected. Who can forget Shivaji's stylish inebriated movements with TMS providing a new dimension to his echo rendition? Of course, not to forget Viswanathan Ramamurthy's novel input with the barest musical instruments. Above all, Kannadhasan's immortal lyrics. Thanking you in anticipation, Murali!

'கட்டபொம்மன்' படத்தில் வெள்ளையத்தேவன் கதாபாத்திரத்தில் நடிக்க முடியாமல் போனது. முதலில் கட்டபொம்மனுக்காக எஸ்.எஸ்.ஆர். ஜெய்ப்பூர் வர ஒப்புக்கொண்டுவிட்டு, பின்னர் அவர் சார்ந்திருந்த கட்சியினரின் துர்ப்போதனையால் கடைசி நேரத்தில் மறுக்க, அதன்பின்னர் அவசர அவசரமாக ஜெமினி கணேசன் புக்பண்ணப்பட்டு ஜெய்ப்பூர் விரைந்தார். இதன் காரணமாக சற்று கோபமடைந்த நடிகர்திலகம், அப்போது படப்பிடிப்பிலிருந்த 'தெய்வப்பிறவி' செட்டில் எஸ்.எஸ்.ஆருடன் சரியாகப் பேசிக்கொள்ளவில்லை என்பது உண்மைதான். அடுத்தவர் மூலமாகவே பேசிக்கொண்டனர். ("மற்ற" ஹீரோக்கள் என்றால் படத்திலிருந்தே தூக்கியிருப்பார்கள். நடிகர்திலகம் அப்படியெல்லாம் செய்பவர் அல்ல என்பது எல்லோரும் அறிந்தது).

ஆனால் தெய்வப்பிறவியில் மட்டும்தான் அப்படி. அதன்பின்னர் வந்த ஆலயமணி, குங்குமம், பச்சை விளக்கு, கைகொடுத்த தெய்வம், பழனி, சாந்தி ஆகிய படங்களின் படப்பிடிப்பில் இருவரும் பேசிக்கொள்ளவே செய்தனர் என்பது மட்டுமல்ல, இப்படங்களுக்கு எஸ்.எஸ்.ஆரை சிபாரிசு செய்ததே நடிகர்திலகம்தான்.

Dear friends,
I had contacted the Niagara city Mayor's office through email and I am extremely happy to let you know that they have responded and sent some paper clippings covering NT's visit to Niagara. I had requested for photographs of the event and I guess they are trying to trace it and I am sure I will get it if they succeed.
Thanks to the Mayor and the Administration office of the Niagara city for the sincerity and dedication shown on a request from a place that is miles apart and for the period spreading 5 decades nearly.
