Rafael Nadal...
...to think a guy could win a grand slam 9 times out of the ten times he has played it is downright freakish...Once in a lifetime player...

Brain Game: Rafa's New Tactics Fell Novak
-By Craig O'Shannessy; ATP News, June 8, 2014
"Rafael Nadal’s masterful counter-tactic of bombarding Novak Djokovic’s forehand took time to develop but ultimately carried him to a historic ninth Roland Garros title on Sunday."

More from all over the world:
The Daily Mail, UK:
"When faced with someone as spectacularly good as Rafael Nadal on clay you do not require idiots in the crowd calling out as you try and survive a match point in the fourth set. That was what Novak Djokovic had to contend with and, just as had happened in losing the 2012 final, he ended with a double fault that completed a 3-6 7-5 6-2 6-4 defeat to the man cementing his place as the all time great dirtballer."

The Sydney Morning Herald, Australia:
"He's the first man in tennis history to win five consecutive Roland Garros titles, and is now tied with Pete Sampras with 14 major championships."

USA Today, USA:
"These kind of big matches obviously take the best out of players," Djokovic said in the news conference later. " And of course it's a huge challenge. I tried to do my best. My best wasn't as the best against him in Rome a couple weeks ago ... He was a better player in the crucial moments. Of course it's disappointing for me, but life goes on."

The Hindu, India:
"Nadal, who will retain his place at the top of the rankings with the victory, has now won 14 Grand Slam titles, tied for second among the men with Pete Sampras. Only Roger Federer, with 17 majors, has more."

Congrats! Rafa.....Well done...
This must be one of his most memorable FO win for him with a lot of things on line (Trying to equal Sampras GS record for the 2nd time, No. 1 ranking, coming off a worst clay season in his career etc etc...).
He is simply unbeatable in a best of 5 particularly in dirt. He is made up of "Never give up until the last point" mentality & sticks to it....
Tough luck Novak....You have been knocking hard for the last 4 years but couldn't get over that final bump...
