விஜய் டிவி விருதுகள் வழங்குவதில் கடந்த வருடமும், இந்த வருடமும் நடு நிலைமையில் இருந்து விலகி இருப்பதாகவே தோன்றுகிறது.
There can never be 100% consensus on these things. Have seen in the hub itself where movies like Paradesi and Onnayum Attukuttiyum had their fair share of criticisms. And it definitely sounded like there were some valid points pointed out here against those movies. At the end of the day I guess they had five (or 3)members in the jury and some film/artist who got the majority backing from these five would have got the award hopefully (Giving Vijay Tv the benefit of the doubt). Honestly how can it be proved that they were partial? Just open a discussion here in hub about the best movie or actor and we can see what will happen then.
I just cannot understand these offbeat filmmakers angst. When you ask them are they satisfied with their work they will talk so much philosophy that their best is yet is to come and they are never satisfied. On the other hand they behave like this saying that their work is the best compared to others. If Ram knew that some sort of purposeful behind the scene unfair work was done by Vijay TV then his actions are appropriate. Else I feel what he did was unwarranted and not correct. Going by the argument that the kid got a National Award for Thangameengal and she obviously deserves every other award is silly. Then what is the point of having the jury. Every other award show has to be nullified then and we can just have a repeat of the National awards under different names.
I remember an interview by KSR(a member of the panel that year) where he pointed out how Venkatprabhu raised a concerned about YSR being sidelined for his work in Mankatha. The following year when Venkat prabhu himself became part of the jury I think he said he realized that the things were quite fair indeed. It is simple. We can never prove whether it is fair or not. Hence no point in assuming things. What the whole world likes might not be liked by the 5 members of the jury
