// Recently I watched an interview of Perarasu. He said his first script had been rejected by producers for many years and that made him to write an alternate commercial script as backup. That was Thirupachi. As he expected, Super good rejected his first script and ok-ed second script. After Thirupachi's success he had no choice other than making commercial movies.
Then when he was asked will he do same kind of mass masala action packed movie if he is the hero ... he replied no, naama nadikira padamaavadhu nallrukanumla .. I was like

“Robin Williams brought dignity to male crying” – Kamal Haasan
Hollywood actor, Robin Williams breathed his last yesterday, 11th August, after an alleged suicide and the film industries all around the world have been mourning the death of the talented actor. On this sad occasion, Kamal Haasan, in his statement about Robin Williams, said:
“Comedians are invariably critics of society who have masked their anger with humour. Constantly maintaining a funny facade leads to depression. Robin Williams' true nature is being quick to tears. You can see it in his films. He could have never become a star in the 60's, for American film heroes were too scared to cry on screen. The Vietnam War changed the American psyche. Rambo was the first popular action hero to show panic, cry and scream in fear. Robin Williams brought dignity to male crying. I like him for his talent. If the alleged story about his suicide is true then I dislike him for ending his life before his due date of expiry. That's a copout that I don't expect of an artist of his caliber. Same applies to my Indian idol Mr. Guru Dutt.”

I presume you may have had different expectations. It was a such a huge BB in Malayalam outrunning all ... Come on man - every regional industry has been scrambling to get the remake rights, and Ekta Kapoor going to court over hindi rights! I'm thinking how so many could be wrong incl. kamal himself who decided to do it

Indira, the king of the Devas had Dwashta, son of Sukracharya (Venus planet- the Guru of the demons)) as his Guru. Indira came to know that Dwashta was performing a Yagna for the demons and killed him and thus incurred the sin called Brahmmahati dosha. In order to cleanse himself of the sin, Indira wandered among the various Shiva Kshetras worshipping the Lord for relief from the dosha. Guru, planet Jupiter advised him to go this place and worship Lord Shiva. Even as Indira was entering the borders of this place, he got relieved from his sin. Hence, the place came to be known as Papanasam – meaning destroying sins and the Lord as Papanasanathar.
