The only thing that irritates me in ARM/ VJ movies is that no matter how serious the issues are, there is a sidetrack of the hero romancing with so much indulgence without caring about the issue. (Some Transgender type actions can be avoided by VJ since it does not suit him at all)
I never talked about Thuppaki not being the worst movie or VJ's acting in the movie....my comment was only on the plot of the movie....if he is depicting the role of Army officer...how best he depicts it has to be left to the actor and the director....and the director will have to think of how to inter-twine the romantic portions without losing the plot....I would say thuppakki to me was fairy tale....
Take for example...Kamal's Kuruthipunal......Arjun and Kamal played Army Officers or Anti-Terrorist squad officers from the Army...very well done....the plot wasn't lost...while they tried to relax the movie by having some controversial (in the 1990's) portions then....
even Ajith too enacted the role of an Army officer in one of his earlier movies "Unnai Kodu Ennai Tharuven" and that didn't impress me much if I take the main plot of Army...but the plot was more related to the romantic with Army role as the sub-plot....It all depends on your convenience on how you take it...

Thatz not a weird taste bro........ my most favorite movie of VJ is Vaseegara.... he underplayed the role very well and in my opinion suited that character to a T........ he looked natural through out (except that climax portion in the railway station (before Nasser intervenes) where he was looking artificial)

Thanks for respecting my opinions and thoughts.....and I also respect your thoughts and opinions made especially the above one
Kuruthipunal in 1990 was way ahead....a very serious movie with a serious plot...
Unnai Kodu Ennai tharuven came later...the main plot was romance...so can't talk much about army role here...
Thuppakki came very much later...the plot was on sleeper cells and how an army man single-handedly goes on to find and demolish the sleeper cells without even the knowledge of intelligence, police officials...
If you clearly say thuppakki is not a Army movie...it is just a movie...then fine...no arguments...people here go rave about the actor doing the army role etc etc...
Guess you too are a kid and I am having fun talking to kids

My post was not multi layered.. It was plain simple and had no intention to pull ur leg here... Did I say thuppakki is not a army movie?.. All 3 movies u had mentioned are Army based with totally different subplots and screenplay.. Comparing these movies made me
.. thatsall..
If u have a problem with bolded lines.. I can't help u..
talking kid, having kid ellam venaam...Better stop guessing me.

basically whether it is army movie or not........ it is the role of a military man........ Vijay carried it with élan in Thuppakki, (the body language of a military man while on a holiday / while on a duty even if it is a self taken one)....... Suriya the same in Varanam aayiram............... Ajith has the capabilities no doubt, as suggested in a few glimpses of the cop role he played in Mankatha but unnai kodu ennai tharuvaen portrayal was not serious I suppose(haven't seen the movie fully..only certain scenes..so my comment was based on those scenes)........ and of course Villu military role for Vijay was equally laughable........... and hence the whole discussion about directors to be given credit for shaping up the actors....

who is comparing...it is you who jumps to conclusions and comparisons...I was just stating out...on the movies and their plots...Thuppakki just falls out as an entertainment piece of movie not too serious and not too romantic and not too dramatic...

Glad to know we are on the same boat. Loved the scenes in the train and with Vadivelu. Songs were a major plus too. My favorites - Nenjam orumurai, Aaha enbargal. The only 2 irritating characters in the Movie were Sneha and Gayathri Jayaram
