Its a norm almost a tradition in Tamilnadu/Andrapradesh many families will go for Film mainly on Diwali/Pongal occasions only.
Hence inspite of 2 films releasing,Still Everyone want Festival to release.If More collection If you get by SOLO,then additional 20% footfall than Usual holiday,5 Shows scheduled during festivals HOLIDAys weeks everything makes more than enough.SO nothing to bother.Ultimately contents takes film to Hits/SuperHits.

There are few exceptions like Huge budgets which require SOLO.


Travelling affecting collections is almost nil ...Anyday Festival days register greater footfalls/occupancy with more early shows

I am sure we are speaking only about opening here. Where family audience, review all came in? How much % family audience come to theaters on opening day or 2?

Reg travel, many of multiplexes raised targeting workers/IT sectors will enjoy more crowd during non festive days. No?
