Madras high court moved to stop release of Rajinikanth's Lingaa movie

MADURAI: A writ petition has been filed in the Madurai bench of the Madras high court seeking a stay on Superstar Rajinikanth's movie "Lingaa."

In his petition, filmmaker Ravi Rathinam alleged that the storyline of "Lingaa" was same as that of his 2013 movie "Mullai Vanam 999."

Hence the petitioner wanted the court's direction to stop the release of the Rajinikanth-starrer.

"Lingaa," directed by K S Ravikumar, is scheduled to be released on December 12.
