do you know how much lingaa collected in Chennai so far? 6.57C and enthiran collected 15C,,just calculate..
1st week-end SPI cinemas had 80 shows, mayajaal had 78 shows, like this many theaters had more shows and even then it collected only 6.57Cr so far..so think about other areas in TN..
just don't do plain calculation like many smart people do like 3500 screens *300 seats * 4 shows * 200 rs * 3 days = 250 crores in 3 days..

Again you didn't read my post correctly.
I have not said Lingaa might have collected 11 crores in Tiruchy-Thanjavur area.
Mr. Singaravelan terms the whole Linga unit as Mosadi gumbal as they have performed a Mannulupaambu deal.
He had bought the rights for 8 crores for Thiruchy-Thanjavur area where it was screened in 55 theatres. Mr. Singaravelan must have got MG from each of this 55 theatres (there was a video from a Congress MLA who paid 60 lakhs to screen in 2 theatres from Mr. Singaravelan). This guy who criticizes this whole business model also would have followed the same thing with those 55 theatre owners.
Regarding Rs. 200/ for the first 3 days in Tuticorin I know it because I have all my relatives there.
You do know that during Baba/Kuselan days movie was not released in 650 theatres across TN right??

I don't understand TN distributors. They made a loss, so they want compensation. So if a movie made more than they expected, they would return the excess? I do not get the logic. Why would anyone need to compensate them? They made the decision to buy the movie, they have to face the consequences and not put the blame on anyone.

Lingaa producer talks of pay-off after Pongal
The war of words between the distributors of Rajinikanth-starrer Lingaa and its producer continued late into the day on Saturday.
The distributors were finally given verbal assurance by Vendhar Movies, which bagged theatre rights for Tamil Nadu. They were promised some sort of relief for the huge losses suffered after consultation with the movie’s producer and Rajinikanth, post Pongal.
Earlier in the day, distributors held a day-long fast at Valluvar Kottam to grab the attention of actor Rajinikanth in the hope that he would intervene and provide a solution.
“There is no doubt the movie has not done well and many, including Vendhar Movies, have suffered huge losses. But, it is not right to talk about the losses while the film is still running in theatres. When it is completely out of theatres by Pongal, we will sit together with all parties concerned, including Rajinikanth, and find a solution,” said T. Siva, a representative of Vendhar Movies.
The distributors were disappointed with the response and said it was a ploy to defuse the tension and delay a solution.
Rockline Venkatesh, the film’s producer, accused the distributors of sabotaging the prospects of the film by talking about losses even while it was running in theatres.
“They never came up with positive solutions like boosting publicity when they knew the film wasn’t doing well. They went public with the losses they had suffered. By doing this, the distributors have killed the film,” said Venkatesh.
He also denied claims by some distributors that the producers had made profits of more than Rs. 200 crore. “If they prove these claims, I will give them the money,” said a teary-eyed Venkatesh.
Earlier, some politicians had shown their support for the sit-in protest and spoken in favour of the agitating distributors. Seeman, filmmaker and leader of Naam Tamilar Katchi, urged the parties involved to find an amicable solution.

Politicians are like vultures always in the waiting for something to exploit and gain something. This continues to happen time and again and will impact other stars as well. This will make things more difficult in the future for folks in the movie industry.
