Jeethu Joseph has adapted it frame by frame... Cannot go wrong with that.
Question: Drishyam's comedy scenes come from the fact tha Mallu cable operators use the medium to telecast softporn in the night and the main character gets a kick out of it... Does that sort of thing happen in TN as well? I thought TN is much more streamlined when it comes to cable TV service etc.

Kamal Haasan would bring us coffee, crack jokes and speak only in Malayalam: Asha Sharath (Nov'14 interview)
For Asha Sharath, being a part of Drishyam and later its Tamil version, Papanasam, is something beyond dreams. The dancer-cum-actress, who recently completed the shoot for the film, says it has been an unexpected stroke of luck to share screen space with Kamal Haasan, who plays Mohanlal's role in the film. "Acting in Papanasam was like doing a fresh film, as Kamal sir's approach is entirely different," she says. Asha plays a Malayali IPS officer, who is based in Tamil Nadu and married to a Tamilian.
Working with Ulaganayakan was nothing like she had imagined, she says. "He was so down to earth and affable on the set that I actually asked myself, is this THE Kamal Haasan? He would even bring coffee for all of us, crack jokes and try to speak only in Malayalam. 'I can still speak conversational Malayalam fluently, it's only the big words which I miss,' he would say," she says.
Asha also got to dub for herself in Tamil for the film, which she considers a feat. "At the first take itself Kamal sir said that I could dub for myself; that my Tamil accent was ok. I treasure that compliment." Being a dancer himself, Kamal would also discuss dance at length with Asha. Gauthami, who plays Meena's character in the film, was also a friendly person and would fondly recall all the Malayalam movies she did. Says Asha, "We would discuss those movies scene by scene. All the movies are still close to Malayalis' hearts, I would tell her."
