KB padangalla enga sir hero romancing duets? KB could have easily gotten NT a super script - but they did have some kind of a spat - if am not mistaken there was also a Gemini Ganesan fan camp that did not like NT specifically!

I meant in general not KB in particular. With KB, none of the scripts he had for Kamal would suit NT. Major Sundarajan, Jaishanker etc. started doing father, and villain roles but NT chose to do roles that had romancing and singing duets. But I think his 'Thanga Padhakam' with Srikanth as his son/villain was a big box office success. So there could have been quite a few scripts that may have used his potential that time.

SKV - Kamal (and IR) have gone way beyond any of the critics or BO stats - most critics don't have even 10% of either the knowledge/experience of them - thats a foregone conclusion..

While it becomes a duty - as a fan - to clamor for critics reviews - in an age where blogs are better in terms of quality and reach - these critics come dime a dozen - can be easily ignored...

watching UV is an experience in itself - by leaving most of the film's narration open-ended - leaving it to the viewers to make their inferences - rather 'feel' the characters - Kamal has accomplished what none in Indian mainstream cinema have even dared attempt....

+1 Box office is just as important as a movie's class.

Producers will be reluctant to fund his movies if it doesn't make money .. With an eye on box office numbers (which he actually cares about), he doesnt have to worry about such issues.

may be murali sir would be able to tell better........but i feel ppl here are slightly pricky in that they chose only the bad apples in Sivaji sir's apple orchard......there were so many good movies in his repertoire.... and so many brilliant performances from almost all, in spite of being casted in damp squib roles and stories..... just oru soru patham....... from the movie kavarimann, in climax scene with his daughter Sridevi, well..i dont have the right set of words to express that...but that to me was awesome

apart from that, (In my opinion) kb, mahendra, balu mahendra, manirathnam et.al, had they casted Sivaji in their movies, Sivaji would have come out of all the awards from that movie and the director's part may not have been come to limelight at all.....

rsubras - I dont honestly think many had it in them to script something good enough for NT - for examples, Vellai Roja was a thriller and not a regular sentiment potboiler and was actually a well-made film - his performance in it was just a class act

KB did Ethiroli with Nadigar Thilagam. I think it was a hit. KB was apologetic in the Chevalier function organised to felicitate the late legend at Singapore in 1994 about not making more movies with NT. He read a special poem as a tribute to NT at that function.I am pretty sure Murali Sir will have all details.

நடிகர்திலகத்தை இயக்கும் ஆசையை ,அத்தனை இயக்குனர்களும் கொண்டிருந்தனர். பாலசந்தரை பொறுத்த வரை (அவருடைய உதவியாளர் தேனீ.மா.அன்பழகன் சிங்கப்பூரில் வசிக்கிறார்),எதிரொலியில் நல்ல வாய்ப்பு இருந்தும், நடிகர்திலகம் தன்னை நடிகனாக அவரிடம் முழுதும் ஒப்புவித்தும் சறுக்கிய காரணம்.... பாலசந்தர் சிவாஜியின் மிக பெரும் ரசிகர். ஆனாலும் அவரை இயக்கம் போது ,தாழ்வு மனப்பார்வையில் உந்த பட்டு படு மன அயர்வுக்கு உள்ளானாராம்.இத்தனைக்கும் சிவாஜி எதிலும் தலையீடு இன்றி, பாலு நீ நல்லா செய்வேன்னு நம்பிக்கை இருக்கு பார்த்து செய் என்றிருக்கிறார்.முழு ஒத்துழைப்பு. ஆனால் பாலசந்தர் சறுக்கினார்.

மகேந்திரன்(இரண்டு மூன்று தயாரிப்பாளர்கள் கே.ஜி என்று நினைவு),பாலு மகேந்திரா(சிவாஜி productions ),மணிரத்தினம்(ஜி.வீ.பிலிம்ஸ்), சுகாசினி(ஜி.வி.பிலிம் ஸ்) போன்றோர் படங்கள் உருவாக இருந்தும், உடல்நிலை போன்ற வெவ்வேறு காரணங்களால் தள்ளி போனது.
அது தமிழர்களுக்கு இழப்பே. பிற்காலத்தில் துணை படமும் நல்ல படமே.

கெட் அப் மாற்றங்கள், (சால்ட் பெப்பர் லுக் ) உட்பட சிவாஜி ஐம்பதுகளில் அறுபதுகளில் விட்ட மூச்சு காற்றுக்களே ,இன்று மற்றவர்களால் தொடர படுகிறது.

கமல் 1980 இல் குங்குமத்தில் சொன்னது." உலக அளவிலேயே ஒரு உன்னத நடிகன் ,ஸ்டார் ஆகவும் இருந்த அதிசயம் நடிகர்திலகம் ஒருவராலேயே நிகழ்த்த பட்டது. அவர் விரலை சொடுக்கினால் திரிசூலம் போன்ற படங்கள் பண்ணி பிளாக் பஸ்டர் ஆக்குவார்.எங்கள் யாராலும் அது போன்று கனவும் காண முடியாது என்று."

4)உலகத்திலேயே ஒரு மிக மிக சிறந்த நடிகர் star ஆகவும் மாறிய அதிசயத்தை செய்தவர் அவர் ஒருவர் மட்டுமே. அவர் விரல் சொடுக்கினால் திரிசூலம் மாதிரி ஒன்றை பண்ணுவார். அதை அவர் ரசிகர்களும் ஒப்பு கொண்டு ,ஒரு சாதனை நிகழும்.

5)He has developed the ultimate style of acting . நான் கிண்ணத்தில் பாட்டுக்கு, அவர் style வராமல் இருக்க பட்ட பாடு. அப்படியும், புருவத்தை தூக்கியதில் வந்து விட்டது.
