How God Answers our Prayers?


A True Incident

Dr. Ahmed, a well-known cancer specialist, was once on his way to an important conference in another city where he was going to be granted an award in the field of medical research.

He was very excited to attend the conference and was desperate to reach as soon as possible. He had worked long and hard on his research and felt his efforts deserved the award he was about to obtain.

However, two hours after the plane took off, the plane made an emergency landing at the nearest airport due to some technical snag. Afraid, that he wouldn't make it in time for the conference, Dr. Ahmed immediately went to the reception and found that next flight to the destination was after ten hours. The receptionist suggested him to rent a car and drive himself down to the conference city which was only four hours away.

Having no other choice, he agreed to the idea despite his hatred for driving long distances.

Dr. Ahmed rented a car and started his journey. However, soon after he left, the weather suddenly changed and a heavy storm began. The pouring rain made it very difficult for him to see and he missed a turn he was supposed to take.

After two hours of driving, he was convinced he was lost. Driving in the heavy rain on a deserted road, feeling hungry and tired, he frantically began to look for any sign of civilization. After some time, he finally came across a small tattered house. Desperate, he got out of the car and knocked on the door. A beautiful lady opened the door. He explained the matter and asked her if he could use her telephone.

However, the lady told him that she doesn't have a phone or any electronic gadget but told the doctor that if could come inside till weather improves.

Hungry, wet and exhausted, the doctor accepted her kind offer and walked in. The lady gave him hot tea and something to eat. The lady told him that he can join her for prayers for which dr Ahmed smiled and said that he believe in hard work only and told her to continue with her prayers.

Sitting on the table and sipping the tea, the doctor watched the woman in the dim light of candles as she prayed next to what appeared to be a small baby crib.

Every time she finished a prayer, she would start another one. Feeling that the woman might be in need of help, the doctor seized the opportunity to speak as soon as she finished her prayers. The doctor asked her what exactly she wants from the God and enquired if God will ever listen or listen to her prayers. He further asked about the small child in the crib for whom she was apparently making a lot of prayers.

The lady gave a sad smile and said that the child in the crib is his son who is suffering from a rare type of cancer and there is only one doctor Ahmed who can cure him but she doesn't have money to afford his fee and moreover Dr Ahmed lives in another far off town. She said that God has not answered her prayer so far but said that God will create some way out one day and added that she will not allow her fears to overcome her faith.

Stunned and speechless Dr Ahmed was in tears which were rolling down his cheeks. He whispered, God is great and recollected sequence of events. ....there was malfunction in the plane, a thunderstorm hit, and he lost his way; and all of this happened because God did not just answered her prayer but also gave him a chance to come out of materialistic world and give some time to the poor hapless people who have nothing but rich prayers.

இவர் ஒரு விமரிசகர்,நடிகர்,சினிமாடோ கிராபர் ,திரைகதையாசிரியர்,எடிட்டர்,இயக்குனர் தயாரிப்பாளர்.(உங்களுக்கு ராஜேந்தர்,பாக்யராஜ் ஞாபகம் வந்தால் டெட்டால் விட்டு குளித்து விட்டு வாருங்கள்)

கோடர்ட் ,தரமான படம் என்ற பழைய கோட்பாட்டை தகர்த்தவர். புதுமை விரும்பி.புது இயக்குனர்களால் சோதனை முயற்சி படங்கள் வர பிரயத்தனம் மேற்கொண்டவர்.இருத்தலியல் (existentialism )மார்க்ஸிஸம் இரண்டிலு ஈடுபாடு கொண்டவர். பிற்கால படங்களில் ஒரு மனிதம் கலந்த போராட்ட முரண்களை மார்க்ஸீய பின்னணியில் அணுகியவர். அரசியலை படங்களில் பேசியவர். அந்த கால நியூ வேவ் படங்களின் முன்னோடிகளான ட்ரூபோ ,ரெஸ்னாய் இவர்களுடன் இணைந்து பிரெஞ்சு படங்களை உலக அளவில் தர படுத்தியவர்.

நாம் பார்த்த ,பார்த்த இருக்கிற உலக இயக்குனர்கள் scorsese ,Tarantino ,Soderberg ,betrolucci ,pasolini ,karvai போன்றவர்கள் இவரால் உந்த பட்டு உருவானவர்களே.

இந்த படம் மைக்கேல் என்ற இளம் குற்றவாளி, கார்திருட்டில் ,ஒரு போலிசை சுட்டு விட்டு ,தப்பிக்கும் ஓட்டத்தில் பேட்ரீஷியா என்ற அமெரிக்க இளம் பெண்ணை (தெருவில் பேப்பர் விற்கும் ,journalism படிக்கும் மாணவி)கண்டு ,அவளால் அவளிருப்பிடத்தில் ஒளித்து வைக்க படுகிறான்.அவன் இத்தாலிக்கு தப்பி செல்ல பண முயற்சியில் இறங்கி, அந்த பெண்ணையும் வச படுத்துகிறான்.(seduction )அவனால் கர்ப்பமாகும் பெண்ணே ,அவனை காட்டியும் கொடுத்து அவன் சாவுக்கு காரணமாகிறாள். கடைசியில் சாகும் போது அவன் சொல்லும் வரிகள் படத்துக்கு முத்தாய்ப்பு.

ஒரு சாதாரண கதையை எடுத்து,அதனை நோக்கமில்லாமல் செலுத்தி,பல வித digressions என்று சொல்ல படும் திருகு வேலைகள் செய்து, புனித நோக்கங்களின் பின்னாலுள்ள நேரத்தின் அர்த்தமின்மை என்பதை புதிய பாணியில்,அலட்டாமல்,சுவாரஸ்யமாக சொன்ன படம். காட்சிகளின் புதுமை,பலம், jump cut என்ற எடிட்டிங் பாணி (இதன் பிறகே பிரபலம் அடைந்தது. சிகப்பு ரோஜாக்கள் ஞாபகம் உள்ளதா).இந்த படத்தை உலக அளவில் பேச படும் படமாக்கியது.

சிலர் தழுவல் என்பார்கள். சில சமயங்களில் ஒரே மாதிரி எண்ண ஓட்டத்தில் படைப்பாளிகளின் படைப்புகள் அமைந்து விடும் என்பார்கள்.

ஆனால் ஒரே மாதிரி எண்ண ஓட்டங்களுக்கு ஏதேனும் காலக்கெடு உள்ளதா தெரியவில்லை.

திரையில் பக்தி என்பது ஒருவேளை இவர்களிடமிருந்து தான் ஆரம்பித்ததோ
ஆம் பாப நாசம் சிவனும் தியாகராஜ பாகதவர் கூட்டணி மிகப்பெரிய வெற்றிக்கூட்டணி
எண்ணற்ற பாடல்கள் இன்றளவும் பிரபலம்.

அப்படி ஒரு பக்தி ரசம் சொட்டும் பாடல் தான் திரு நீலகண்டர்(1939)’ல் வந்த

சிவனைப்பற்றி சிவனே எழுதிய பாடல் . இசை வேந்தர் தியாகராஜ பாகவதரின் குரலில் நம்மை பரவசப்படத்தான் வைக்கிறது.

சிதம்பர நாதா ஒரு அற்புத பாடல். எம்.கே.டி குரல் வளம் தனி. எம்.கே.டி-பாபநாசம் சிவன்- ஜி.ராமநாதன் இணைவு சங்கீதத்துக்கு கொடை .கர்நாடக சங்கீதம் பரிச்சயமாகாத காலத்திலேயே (பினாட்கட்களின் self taught வகைதான் நான்)இவர்களுடைய சொப்பன வாழ்வில்,அன்னையும் தந்தையும் தானே,தீன கருணாகரனே நடராஜா ,வதனமெ சந்த்ர பிம்பமோ, மன்மத லீலையை போன்ற பாடல்களை அவ்வளவு ரசித்திருக்கிறேன். நினைவு படுத்தியமைக்கு நன்றி.
