About 40% of the theatre was full. A friend of mine didn't like the movie that much. Thought it was too long for comfort.
They really shouldn't be compared. Not about this movie in particular (havent seen drishyam) - while Kamal is an actor par excellence, Mohanlal simply blends in naturally eliminating the need to act.
40% doesnt sound encouraging .. hopefully it picks up through the weekend.
Will be watching this evening ..

agreed, he's not on par with some of our legends but certainly he's a very good method actor. while he does 50% commercials he also does 50% social films (art etc). if anyone doubt his acting credentials they should watch sathyagraga, rajneeti, company etc (the ones i watched). he acts at so ease..

^ While I agree on the part that their work in Drishyam/Papanasam shouldn't be compared, I feel it is okay to compare their overall body of work as actors.
Crowds should be coming in since the wom is good. One of the problems here is that no one actually expected Papanasam to release so close to the heels of Uttama Villain.

US collection as per many sources is below average. Even in India it hasn't really set the box office on fire I guess
PS: I meant the premier shows collection
