Venki, there are more layers than what we think of. Today;s stars are bigger and want to become more and more bigger by every film. At a point when bubble bursts very badly, only then they go back to their roots. but anyways thats their own part of story. Now these bigger forces have in a way or other, made themselves into a some sort of BO top actors list. and these actors who are in that list, always attempts commercial movies only. they always try to feed their 1st row bench fans, and surely will do films which have heroism without fail. this apart, each one of these actors keep on doing some sort of balancing act behind the wraps, constantly, to keep themselves in their current position and also to increase that. And for all these hardships, they get a fatty salary(black and white) get lot of fame, and also oppurtunities to get into much bigger projects in future, thus foreseeing a chance to increase both their pay packets and fame/fan base. Now kamal is in a totally different game from all of them. While they have undoubtedly huge respect on him and also keep on sow that respect from time to time, it wud be tough and hitting for all of them if they add another member in the already built list of BO.

Not only the above stuff, these actors, each, have theor own nexus of reporters who handle media, both in print and online portals/social medias. each one of them makes a top 10 lists and of course they only place their films in higher places but if u look at the other places, all the lists keep different films in different places! if u check ALL those top10 lists, you will find the whole scene very funny!

And our man is adifferent creature in handling media too! He doenst do any form of indirect buildup to show him as undisputable king. whatever praises he gets, happens naturally. he never has the habit of 'covering' media! He wants the media to write anything and everything about him naturally itself(!) which is something to never happen. Since he is a very big artist and performer, media don't have any issues in portraying his artistic majesty without his request. But when it comes to money matters, unless for upcoming and fresh films, media has gone into the mode of 'expecting' something to write even for well performing movies! in the expectancy that as the movie is doing well there is nothing wrong in we expecting something to write about the real success the movie ie getting in BO. Added to that, the paid partial bias each media has hidden in it. Seeing all this, i guess we can never expect the TN media to write the exact blockbuster success of Papanasam.

Recently there was an Hindu hyderabad article which compared bahubali BO with Vishwaroopam and thats such a rare feat to see in TN media.
