That is why he did not indulge in Stanilavsky's Method Acting, which requires lots of emotional involvement. It would have been too taxing for NT whose characters are mostly emotionally burdened, and he does many films at once, and at times, many characters in the same film. This system he used allows him to switch on and off as needed. And not everyone...or anyone is capable of pulling it off as beautifully and perfectly as NT did.

What Sivaji failed to say was "You need to be born to act". smile emoticon Acting "happened" for Sivaji whereas others acted well through sheer dint of hard work !!! How else would explain the nonchalant "vetti officer" reply to Muthuraman's enquiry about what Sivaji does for a living in "annai illam", followed by sway of his cigarette holding hand as if to mean "forget about me now" !!! How well Sivaji could portray the idea that it was Parthiban indeed in the guise of Vikraman , all with just a position of his shoulders exuding a settled, grounded and a lack of aggression disposition and those eyes....they were'nt as connivingly piercing as those of Vikraman, were they ? Another piece of matchless acting through a silhouette of his,the "mannavan vanthanadi" juggernaut happens and when it is into its closure, when the lust filled Sivaji in halting steps ambles towards the dancer the viewer is presented only with the silhouettes of Sivaji and Padmini, excepting here, that of Sivaji acts !!!! It stumbles forward completely smitten by lust, overcome by it and completely blinded by it .....the perfect "lost in world of fantasy" step, the "uncontrolled, inebriated by lust" walk towards the object in question !!!! My, my who could have taught this man how to express himself only through a couple of steps !!! Watch this scene and if you still dare to compare this man with anybody else.....scoot for the asylum closest to you

My Fair Lady is a 1964 American musical film adaptation of the Lerner and Loewe eponymous stage musical based on the 1938 film adaptation of the original 1913 stage play Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw. With a screenplay by Alan Jay Lerner and directed by George Cukor, the film depicts a poor Cockney flower seller Eliza Doolittle who overhears an arrogant phonetics professor, Henry Higgins, as he casually wagers that he could teach her to speak "proper" English, thereby making her presentable in the high society of Edwardian London.

The film won eight Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Actor, and Best Director.
