Firstly, the Cartel did not give much time for any connection to happen. It all happens under a thunder inbetween the gap of lightenings. Moreover, the Vedalam character is sketched to redisover himself admist Tamizh and family, it a positive manner. Positivity is the what the movie is all about.

Secondly the movie structure itself. It starts with a malevolent man who feeds on the sentiments of the family member, challenging that goodness has no harm over him and it needs a demon much bigger than him to take him down. Thus, the story follows Vedalam and at the end relates to the challenge made by the man. I would like to precise again here that a story can have different treatment, Siva stuck to what he had visioned.
