That is a nice duet, typical of that time (Poo Malarndhida...comes to mind right away). Many songs hold traces of other songs in them, and the Menaka song you have in mind (and here I am guessing), is a solo by SJ I think: Narumana Malargalin Suyamvaramo Kannil...? I have no idea about the film or MD!
