I am ok with his singing. but certainly couldnt stand his acting (????) in that Punnagaipoove song.

He voice is a bliss like ARR
apart from music most of his hits were his voice which made me hookked up....

exactly my view on that walk 
i don hav any probs with his voice, but i would categorise his voice something like Himesh's nasal... not exactly that... that kind of.

Ok, I'll rephrase that: Yuvan's crooning, at his best, matches up with ARR's. So you say? I'd categorically disagree. Rahman's voice seems far more 'soulful' and rich. If you get what I mean.
Yuvan, of course, is one talented composer (along with Amit Trivedi) of our age. But it's good that he understood (t)his weakness.
As for his acting in that song, I couldn't stand. But then, even Rahman struggles and seems 'stilted' in this respect.

I like his voice, he has some excellent songs to his credit (Oru naalil, idhu kaadhalaa, thAkkuthEy etc) but can't stand his diction. Absolutely horrible. Good decision.
