Indian of the Year has several categories.
CNN-IBN Indian of the Year is the biggest and the most credible award of the nation. The award recognizes the Indian(s) whose contribution to the country in a calendar year has strengthened the foundation of our society and has helped build Brand India in the process. The pinnacle of Indian achievement, the award adheres to the unparallel four-tier process, standing resolute for the resilience and trust of a billion free Indian minds.
Shankar won 2010 Entertainment category for being a filmmaker with an unbeatable track record of 100% hits in Tamil….the latest being the costliest Indian film ever produced 'Robot'.
Quote by Shankar on being awarded : "I would like to dedicate this award to Rajni Sir as without his support, fan followers, dedication none of this would have been possible. Also I would like to pay gratitude to my audiences who have always believed in me. "
NDTV Indian of the Year awards to the people who made their mark in various fields, be it politics, sport, entertainment, business, arts and culture and so on.

No, I was meaning to ask if he was chosen the entertainer of the decade or the entertainer of the year. CNN/NDTV Indian awards are categorized like enterntainment, politics, sports etc. So no question of winning *Indian of the year/decade*.

Congrats for the award thalaivaa. Who else but you for the entertainer of the decade.
He was completely overwhelmed and was not comfortable at all. And I was right about the politics question and the answer (it was no comments this time). PC said he had a great chance in 1996. And loved Ajay D / Vidya B / Trisha / Katrina's comments. Trisha particularly was good. Trishakku oru chance kuduthurunga thalaivaa. Was a little disappointed that he said robot is his best so far, it used to be muLLum malarum. But I think he was simply playing it to the gallery.
