He won much accolade for Ek dujE ke liyE (even won NA) prior...neither it was all floodgates after maine pyAr kiya.

He had always been a respected guest player in HFM...

Before MPK, Bala played back mostly for Kamal (EDKL, Saagar). I guess his voice was identified with southern actors?! MPK was the real break for SPB into the HFM.

My theory: SPB was chosen to sing play back for SK because his Hindi pronunciation had a slight accent (like Saroja Devi's Tamil) which was perceived as "boyish" by North listeners. This worked for SK's character in MPK and HAHK. That's why I asked the story behind "SPB for MPK"

I heard the Reason for Chosing SPB for Salman is, Salman in his prime days was regarded as a lover boy/ Macho man, and they thought, only a macho voice of SPB would suit him, and the rest is history as we know it!

Hats off to SPB ji for the Padma bhusan Award in 2011! This should have been given to him atleast 20 years back

It was a dubbed movie from another language (Telugu?) in which the talented dancer Sudha Chandran (who lost her leg and used prosthetics) was the main star.

During 80s and 90s , I am always smitten by கார்த்திக்.
மௌன ராகம், அக்னி நட்சத்திரம், அபினந்தனா , என் ஜீவன் பாடுது, வருஷம் பதினாறு , கிழக்கு வாசல், கோபுர வாசலிலே, இதய தாமரை to 90s உள்ளத்தை அள்ளித்தா, கோகுலத்தில் சீதை , உன்னிடத்தில் என்னைக்கொடுத்தேன் several of them are my favorite movies.

கார்த்திக் brings that adorable ,huggable , glowing allure those so called தலைகள் of yester & current yrs lack totally .

There is another personal reason for me loving this song is as , this song fetched me the first Prize in a Concert!
