I read "Down Syndrome" nevertheless this is not a rare occurrence, it is a common tragedy when it comes to unsecured swimming pools.

how simple it will be for others and even her to blame herself, saying it was carelessness and of course the upperhanded can easily scoff "this would not happen if it were my child" these are the words that will destroy anyone...but what it was, was an accident, a woman pining to be a mother for 18 years labeled as careless is the utmost cruelty one can deal to her.... I think at this time all she needs is understanding and respect.

But I was not talking to her was I? I don't know what exactly happened and I am just commenting based on a couple of news articles. And if they are true, she was indeed careless 'getting ready for the show with the pool door open leaving the child unattended?', could be accidental too but certainly this is one accident that could have been prevented. Its not like a drunk driver ramming into your car. Also it may not be her fault, she would have definitely had a babysitter. I am not meaning any offense certainly, this is such a sad happening and I express my deepest sympathies. Anyway this is certainly not the time to argue about my choice of words and I apologize if I had sounded caustic.

My heartfelt condolences to Chitra and her family. This is really sad. No amount of words would be able to console her right now. May Nandhana's soul rest in peace and may God gives Chitra and her family the strength to overcome this misfortune

I propogate the same thoughts from my side too as i was the one who mentioned about the carelessness first.
anyway nothing can be changed now and I wish Chitra to be strong to overcome this.

    Nerd,
First of all, I’m sorry to have offended you, I was replying more specifically about your comment about autism, and what followed was a comment I felt in general to what has already been said earlier and in other places as well; nevertheless I’m sorry if you felt I targeted you, that certainly was not my intention.

    Querida,
I think it's the thatstamil website that talked about autism as the condition while a couple other places mention as Down syndrome.

While such conditions can increase some risk, bodies of water are always dangerous to children regardless of their health conditions There had been any number of incidents involving children and pools

Extremely sad event. Sadness multiplied many times as this was Chitra's only child, born after many years of marriage.

Janaki ammA tried to be optimistic in wishing that Chitra chEchi will be blessed with another child (despite her less favourable age.)

Ordinary souls like us can only shed tears
