The function held today jointly by Russian Consulate, Russian Cultural Centre and Sivaji Prabhu Charities trust to celebrate the Russian Independence and Indian Independence went off well. The Consul General Mr.Nikolai Listapadov, Mr.Ramkumar spoke touching upon the highlights of Indo- Russian Friendship and about the struggles faced by the respective nation. A short but sweet synopsis of the World War II was presented by a 2ng Year Student of Stella Maris, Ms.Archana. Mr.Thangappan of Russian cultural centre welcomed the gathering and he have us a pleasant surprise by announcing that the works of Nadigar Thilagam is going to be archived in the Russian cultural centre, the work for which would start by July on the occasion of 10th Anniversary of Nadigar Thilagam. He also expressed his desire that the function to celebrate the Golden jublies of Paava Mannippu, Paasa Malar, Paalum Pazhamum and Kappalottiya Thamizhan should be held in the Russian Cultural centre.

Ragavender Sir then spoke briefly about the topic Indian Independence projected through the films of Nadigar Thilagam and the clippings were screened. முதலில் வந்தது கட்டபொம்மன் கிளைமாக்ஸ் காட்சி. நடிகர் திலகத்தின் சிம்ம கர்ஜனையை கேட்டு புல்லரித்து நிற்க கப்பலோட்டிய தமிழனில் வெள்ளி பனி மலை மீதுலாவுவோம் பாடலின் ஒரு சிறிய பகுதியும் கப்பலை வாங்கி கொண்டு அதில் பயணம் செய்து வரும் வ.ஊ.சி வரவேற்பை ஏற்றுக் கொண்டு பேசுவது இடம் பெற்றது. அடுத்தது பகத்சிங். ராஜபார்டில் இன்குலாப் பாடல் முழுமையாக வந்தது. தொடர்ந்தார் திருப்பூர் குமரன்[ பாடலிலும் அடுத்து திருப்பூர் குமரன் காட்சியிலும் பெருந்தலைவரை குறித்த வரிகளுக்கு பலத்த வரவேற்பு].

அடுத்தது வாஞ்சிநாதன். சினிமா பைத்தியத்தில் இடம் பெற்ற அந்த காட்சிக்கு பிறகு வந்தார் நாம் பிறந்த மண் சந்தன தேவன், தூக்கில் போடப் போகும் காட்சியும் அப்போது வரும் இந்திய சுதந்திர அறிவிப்பும் சந்தன தேவன் விடுதலையாவதும் வந்தது. தொடர்ந்து வந்தது தாயே உனக்காக காட்சி. ராணுவ வீரனாக நடிகர் திலகம் போர் முனைக்கு புறப்படும் காட்சியும் [முதல் காட்சியில் சிக்கென்று வெகு இளமையாக காட்சியளிப்பார். அடுத்த காட்சியில் ராணுவ உடையில் படு கம்பீரமாக வருவார்] பிறகு போர் முனையில் காயமுற்று படுக்கையில் இருந்த படியே சிவகுமாரிடம் பேசும் காட்சி திரையிடப்பட்டது.

பிறகு நடிகர் திலகம் படங்களின் பாடல் காட்சிகளில் தேசிய சிந்தனைகள் என்ற தலைப்பில் இரத்த திலகம் படத்தில் பனி படர்ந்த மலையின் மேலே, பிறகு பாரத விலாஸ் படத்தில் இந்திய நாடு என் வீடு பாடல், இறுதியாக கை கொடுத்த தெய்வம் படத்தில் சிந்து நதியின் மிசை நிலவிலே பாடலுடன் விழா இனிதே நிறைவு பெற்றது.

காட்சிகளை அழகாகவும் சுவைபடவும் தொகுத்திருந்த ராகவேந்தர் சாருக்கு அனைத்து பாராட்டுகளும் உரித்தாகும்.

It's a great honour, pride and opportunity bestowed on Mr. Raghavendran, to present a short film, with clippings from NT's various films involving freedom struggle and nationalism. This film may be circulated and shown to various people in various countries and has a great wider reach and will showcase the seriousness with which NT took his film career; that he not only took his career for his own professional satisfaction and satisfaction of the audience but; he also utilised the media to effectively instil in the minds of the Indian citizens in highlighting the importance of nationalism and the sacrifices made by various freedom fighters in getting us independence. This, to my knowledge, has not been done by any other Artiste to date, not only in India but; in any other country in the entire world.

Mr. Raghavendran richly deserves kudos from every one for his efforts in compiling and presenting such a wonderful film covering the subject with precision. I deemed it a previlege to be part of the elite audience, along with Messrs. Murali, Pammalar and Ramajayam.

We salute you Mr. Raghavendran.
