this too features the dance antics of Chiru and Suha
but so very pleasing and easy on the ears!

Sureshs65 Thank you for your second list of malayalam songs will listen to them soon,
the previous list was so full of (new) faves, Malayalam songs take melodious songs to yet another level...
There's much to still enjoy, am looking forward to reading your blog entry and listening to the songs it pertains to,
but against my better judgment I couldn't resist not listening to the song posted by V_S...and now I don't know where my sleep has gone...just immesely enjoying this gem on loop, "Vaa Naalukku Naal" is such a powerhouse performance by SPB...love that bass...love the little quiver he does towards the ending when singing the chorus...what a pure jam session...love it!!V_S

Chiru-Suhasini received a whole lot of goodies from IR. I can easily count karigi pOyAnu, mooga veenai, maLLi maLLi and ofcourse the Forumhub-famous(thanks to Joe) Rain song from Challenge. And many more which I cant recall instantly.
Mid-to-Late 80s I think Chiru got better stuff than Rajini from IR.
Thank you Querida. Yes it is an explosive song with abundant bass. I am still desperately looking for the telugu version 'ee vayasunnadi’ which KV pointed out. I could not find in youtube. Any links to hear the telugu version of Vaa NaaLukku Naal? and what film is that from?
Plum,
Yes Chiru did receive some fantabulous music from Raja. I will agree with you that Chiru probably got marginally better music than Rajni. The surprising thing is that the MDs of the North were never able to give such music for their action heros, especially Amitabh. If you notice the music of Amitabh's films, oh wait, did I say music and Amitabh's films in the same line? Even the great RDB could not give great music for any of the Amitabh's action films. Whereas Raja just freaked out for Chiru and Rajni. The amount of experimentation he has done for Rajni is phenomenal !! A part of it is due to Raja's personality and part of the credit must go to Rajni for not interfering in whatever Raja did!!!

Querida,
You are more than welcome for the list. Nothing gives me more joy than spreading Raja's Malayalam music aroundBecause I have grown up with Raja's Telugu works I always think everyone knows it. So I rarely point to Telugu songs!!

To be fair to Rajini, he tried to rope in IR on later occasions but "others" prevented it from happening, even IR taking up that "others" role at times...(Annamali was a KB production ; after PPA, it was obvious that IR could not be part of any KB ventures. Rajini did have IR for ejamAn & veerA, in the case of ejamAn thanks to RVU, even though AVM vigorously worked against IR for a while...veerA was a Panju production and Rajini didn't have any issue...his vaLLi had IR)
How about Kamal?
