Unicode support is only from 4.0, that too viewing Indic fonts only inside browser For typing, there are apps like Tamilvisai.

Hamid, Tamil and other Indic fonts are supported partially. There are unofficial but legal shortcuts. no need to root and all! no need to violate warranty. Don't worry, u can read and write tamil!

i also heard Samsung Galaxy has some provision to install Indic fonts which are not in android phones. not sure, will veryfy and confirm.

Hamid, Nokia, Symbian pathi enakku idea illai thatsall. And also feature wise they are too limited. Features means, not hardware features, but apps. Ithaan compatible hardware, appadinnu mudivu pannittu, athukku mela oru OS pottuttu, athukku mela, apps ezhuthitte pogaNum. Thats what hapens with android. Similar to what happens in PC/Laptop, one base hardware, slight variations on that, and tons of software. Nokia itself could not even just sustain with Symbian, thatswhy went to Windows Mobile. All becos of Android. Both the price and vareity of Apps, one just cannot get that combination elsewhere, except Android.

Nokia-la ecosystem dhaan prachna.. Symbian (Ovi, or whatever it is called now) OS doesn't have customization, or a range of applications like BB or iOS. Android is a poor man's iOS.
    I'd suggest -
    Samsung Galaxy R - 21k or Xperia Neo V - 18k.
    Motorola Defy 14.5k or HTC Wildfire S - 13k.

BTW, Isn't Android 4.1 supposed to be Jellybeans or something?
