And thats the reason it doesnt work for me in both my rooted and neo v versions - i am on Gingerbread 2.3.4!
Now rooting to another ROM with 2.3.6 - i'd like to read tamil in twitter in particular... hope that works
my version is 2.3.5.. am installing twitter app and will let u know soon..

Guys I can confirm after that update you can see Tamil in Facebook app, tapatalk and twitter. however some letters are jumbled but that is not a problem.

mareen, generally, if you can see mayyam with tamil fonts visible, in android browser, then any site, facebook or twitter, or thatstamil will show tamil fonts.
Mostly that shud be the same case wrt individual apps too. I mean, if one app, for example facebook app can show tamil fonts, then twitter, tapatalk, and other apps also shud follow the suit.

this one is quite good and simple procedure for rooting; http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1282011
while you are doing that you might notice that getting into the recovery mode is a bit painful; holding some keys together pressed etc. I suggest you install Clockworkmod recovery; this would give you a menu in your phone itself to directly go into download or recovery mode; quite useful esp if you are going to install custom ROMs etc. you can do that by using this method - http://acetips.wordpress.com/2011/10...ll-cwm-ace-gb/ once that is complete the latest version is available for you here http://acetips.wordpress.com/2011/11...cwm-v5-ace-gb/

lol actually quite easy to root. look around xda forums, you might find a version of the ROM (basically this changes the whole software in ur phone; look/feel and usability etc) which is interesting... then you can start rooting and flashing new ROMs. for e.g in the new version i am installing there is google talk with video
