Really a great write-up and especially the way you finished up, was really moving. The end dialogue reminded me of Padikkaathavan dialogue between NT and Rajinikanth. There are only few film dialogues I remember, this is one of them, good to see you said the same.

There was this song by SPB called "PoothEnil kalanthu pOn vandu ", can some one tell me the name of the movie and MD for that pls ?

Recently I bought a CD full of SPB songs called the "genius"
There were so many unheard (for me) songs of SPB in the 1970
Most of them SPB +PS Combo!

I think you've mixed up the two songs in your post...let me try to clear it up:

1. 'poonthEnil kalandhu, pon vaNdu ezhundhu' - SPB/PS song is from the movie ENippadikaL. The composer is K V Mahadevan, thirai isaiththilakam aka mAmA

That song is different from :

2. 'mEghamE, thoodhAka vA, azhagin ArAdhanai' - another SPB/PS song that is from the movie kaNNan oru kaikkuzhandhai. This song is from our man, IR and had already been covered in this discussion earlier as #12, please find the post in the link below :
