app is right. Mengattu Pottal is the name of a place in the heart of Madurai city adjacent to where we lived for years together. It stretches into the most expensive street of Madurai in the sense most of the Jewelery shops are situated there known as South Avani Moola Street and public meetings used to be held on Sundays. There is a park near it called Jhansi Rani Park opposite to which YMCA is housed.

For film fanatics like us in general and NT fans in particular, near to Mengattu Pottal is where we have New Cinema where Kattabomman roared, Deivamagan Kannan swore and Vijay Anand of Vasantha Maaligai romanced.

Sangili Murugan had produced many movies including Oru Kai Osai, Pandi Nattu Thangam, Enga Ooru Kaavalkaran and there was one more Karthik movie Nadodi Pattukaaran, then Kumbakarai Thangaiah and Kaadhaluku Mariyaadhai. There was also one Vijaykanth movie, the name of which I am not getting it now.
