#303 இரு விழியின் வழியே நீயா வந்து போனது?
(சிவா, 1989 , சித்ராவுடன்)
iru vizhiyin vazhiyE neeyA vandhu pOnadhu? (sivA, with KSC)
Perhaps one of the Rajini movies of 80's that didn't have as much success as his other products (reasonably so because I simply couldn't complete watching the movie on DVD
-despite a few patient attempts - horrible and could never watch beyond a limited time). wikipedia even says it was rated 'A' (I don't know for what). Supposedly a kalaichchelvam (original "khoon pasinA" of BachchanAm) produced by KB with Ameer Jaan directing it. The director had a successful debut with poovilangu which also launched (late) Murali. I don't remember whether he had any other significant product.
The movie also had Shobana who was having a great run in Malayalam during this time, frequently doing movies with M & M. Possibly her first with Rajini (before romancing him in that magnum opus 'sundari kaNNAl oru sEthi'). Her wiki says she is acting in 'kOchchadaiyAn' also (adhula yArellAm technology yArellAm real-nnu theriyalai...plus, can't say if she is doing Rajini's ammA role which will be hilarious to me...Soundarya says -she was the "only choice for the role" as the character was written keeping her in mind
).
The song is quite melodious - somewhat similar to the two duets of agni* but with SPB here and was easily a favourite with me those days. Still has not lost the appeal with both singers rendering it to perfection! It has a nice pace too and any director with some imagination could have picturized this brilliantly - I don't know how this looks on screen (will check out the youtube later today).

Do you mean 'puthupputhu arthangaL', that had the song 'kELadi kaNmaNi'? I think the movie 'kELadi kaNmaNi' starring SPB happened in 1990...

In any case, there's another SPB-KSC hit in sivA and after that we'll take our Guruvayoor trip

I don't remember whether I watched this movie in theater... both the movie and Kushbu did not leave much impact on me. In 1989, I was all into "Mere Rang Mein Rangne Wali" of MPK... years later I came to know about it's original.

No... It was the biggest hit for SPB in 1989... His Hindi career took off with MPK..
"Mere Rang Mein Rangne Wali" of MPK is a copy of The Final Countdown(Europe).

Exactly, I agree with genesis and venkkiram!. Definitely, we never saw such a beauty and innocence together, that time. The way Fazil told and folded the love story with Kushboo's charisma, it went straight into our hearts. Kushboo became a house-hold name after this film.
