Dig and a long one at that.
sakala,
Too much support to B'lore-ah
Ok,as a kannadiga who has lived in Chennai(though very long back)and who keeps visiting chennai atleast once every couple of years,I find both cities have their pro's and con's.
B'lore is probably cleaner but chennai is not as bad as it was.Food is extremely costly in chennai-no darshini's and bakeries(a good business idea to start a chain).Chennai has it's T Nagar which nothing(even the lanes of commercial street)in bangalore can match.
Chennai is very hot but b'lore is fast catching up,Chennai has a vibrant culture which b'lore can never replicate(becos majority of citizens here are immigrants and so no chance a culture could develop).
B'lore is more cosmopolitan and favours outsiders.
SS,even in Chennai bus boards are in Tamil only.
Auto in Chennai is day light robbery but bus service is efficient .B'lore -Auto is metered but still very costly and is catching up on the bus service,Transport minister Ashok has done some good work.
B'lore is supposed to be progressive and Chennai conservative(have no idea on this,I quit the city 22 years back).
Personally, would like to live in Chennai, the weather is the only deterrent.Even last week when I was there,a/c illama oru nimisham irukka mudiyala.

LM,
Have no idea on english bus boards in Chennai.Did not observe when I was there last week.
sathya,
Traffic is the same boss in both cities, the perils of a growing city. And whereever there is bad traffic, discipline takes a hit.
Success is how high you bounce when you hit bottom.

Are you sure, Cinefan? I'm yet to come across a bus with only Tamil boards. All the buses have destination written in both English and Tamil. A good, balanced post otherwise
