I will definitely write about it. I know there are lot pending from my side. I am little slow, please bear with me.
Yesterday I was listening to this stunner non-stop for atleast an hour. It brings back lot of good memories. The film itself is revolutionary in concept considering it was filmed in 80's, but badly executed. Since IR was there and one of my favorite actress Saritha acted, I happened to watch it, but don't remember much now. Radha Ravi and Pandiyarajan starrer. When I was listening to the song, I went into search mode to find the video and found this title song. Spectacular visuals! With bullock carts and reddish soil, we can feel the smell of our land and with Raja's voice pitching in, what more authentic native composition can we ask for?
One of the beauty of the song is in first interlude, where Sasirekha (I think) sings a phrase only with bullock's sound and no other instrument
at the background. How could he even think of such an idea.

Remember they cry randomly with no rhythm or pattern, and how he used it effectively is the hallmark of the genius.
Wonderful composition; Chittukkuruvi paaru from Vaazhga VaLarga.
Since this song didn't capture many hearts that time, he wanted to reinvent and glorify the song again in 90s, which became a blockbuster of a song. I believe you can find that song.
VS, recent time..i m listing this song frequently as the lyric completely abt sittu kuruvi and they way IR rending, I liked but did not noticed the beauties mentioned by you. whats the song came 90'S?
Moreover I thought since the songs are available in indian cinema, we are getting lot of emotions and genre in songs when compare to other part of the world.
