KV,
Nice description of that song
'Kummi Paatu' is a nice album which I listen to often (ofcourse on thiraipaadal and not on youtube. Would love to own the CD but I guess it is not available.) Swarnalatha is superb in this movie. 'adi aasa machan' and 'oorukku thekiita' are songs where she casually dismisses Arunmozhi
What lovely feel in her singing.

I took time out today to hear it and as I had my playlist on shuffle, the first track to play was number 9. Engiruntho. Done my research and found out this track is from film En Jeevan Paduthu (1988 – The year I was born). What I found funny was this track was inserted in the CD 5 times and that to under different names lol must’ve been a dodgy mp3 or maybe it was written for me to be encapsulated by this gem. At first I thought is my playlist playing up but I was wrong.

The album has two versions, one by Raaja Saab himself (this is the version that features on the CD I brought) and the other one being by Lata Mangeshkar :surprised: Nice to hear in Thamizh.
Raaja Saab’s version is much more haunting.

Was listening to the CD again and I have no words to express my emotions towards this song. It's quite common to say "Ilaiyaraaja is the best" or "One of Ilaiyaraaja's best gem". I wish there were better phrases to describe certain numbers. The Carnatic and Konnakol in this pathos track, makes me feel, Wow, my aural nerves have just been just been mellowed. I ask myself where was I when these gems released? What do i say? ... Well I shall say no more, don't want this feeling to loose its gloss... Better late than never
