A man's cardinal failings is beautifully captured by GM in En Rasavin Mansile. An arai-kaal-padi (boy) setup by Senthil accosts GM asks him 'என்ன தெரியுதா ' and then 'ஓட்டு வீடு ஞாபகம் இருக்கா' type questions for which GM replies with his trademark disdain. When the boy further probes him about 'கீதா அக்கா', annan, in spite of being surrounded by suspicious wife and Senthil, ephemerally yields to weakness and asks 'டேய் யார்ரா உங்க அக்கா' but immediately realizes his folly and reconciles to reality and sets himself up for being bashed by his wife.

The whole scene, the way it is setup with GM in a joyful mood before being approached by the boy and Senthil waiting in a corner waiting for the boy to arrive and then the way he sets himself to get bashed by his wife is superb.

Just love it. Anyone??

Yes, the split second flips where aNNan changes his body language to the facial expressions to the voice. One can feel the joLLs in the 'டேய் யார்ரா உங்க அக்கா' amidst the situation he is in.

And who can forget "கடவுள் படைப்புல துளியூண்டு இன்பத்துக்காக இந்த நாய் கிட்ட எல்லாம் இம்சைப் படுறேன்", which I think is ultimate.

A similar scene is in Cheran Pandiyan. GM gets into close proximity with his wife and sings innaikki katcheri vaikkap poREn* (no raising the pitch - romantic mood). S who is near by the mechanic shop gets jealous and says "onnaappu teecheramma ongaLa visaarichchaanga" and spoils the whole setup. And obviously aNNan ends up bashed by his wife.
