Grouchthough I don't hate Padaiyappaa as much as you do. 2nd half (save for what-a-man) is sort of better than the 1st half. But no comparison to Annamalai. Rajini's best masala in the last 20 years. Vetri nichayam is a particular favorite of mine. Devaji in supreme form. And well shot too. Padaiyappaa (the scene Ramkumar quoted, oonjal scene etc.), Batsha (ulle po, medical college) both had quite a few good scenes but not as consistently good as Annamalai.

I prefer annamalai over baasha...But the younger crowd likes more baasha and padayappa.....
