With all the marketing and crowd pull, only 5,6 Hindi movies have managed 100 C. Adhuthaan puriya maatengudhu. Let me tweet to Taran Adarsh for more insight.

Word of mouth is the best marketing for a film after the release which was very positive for Thuppaki...With 6 special morning shows in sathyam complex all being housefull & most theatres in Chennai screened special shows with housefull board indicates the crowd pull...

I know that the statuses of these 4 theaters don't give the exact picture but i guess its better than checking out Mayajaal status alone.

The numbers are amazing. I remember most of us were upset when the release date was moved from 9th to 13th. Given that only 13th was a holiday in India (working day in the rest of the world), and the next 3 days (wed thru fri) were working days as well before the weekend....this is a tremendous achievement by any yardstick. Just imagine what would have happened if it had released on 9th
. And as Ajay said, most of the night shows are 70% + booked even today...awesome response to a truly deserving movie....very happy for Vijay!!

Softy,
The first two day collection was on par with many recent hits. But the real record was the next 4 days. The film didnt show any sign of declining as WOM was awesome, Hence the numbers..
