எல்லா வருடமும் டிசம்பர் மாதத்தில் டி டி.கே. ரோட்டில் அமைந்திருக்கும் ஏவிஎம் Sound Zone -ல் டிவிடி களின் sales நடைபெறும். இந்த வருடமும் அது போன்றே நடந்து வருகிறது. அனைத்து டிவிடி வெளியிட்டாளர்கள் தங்கள் படைப்புகளை அங்கே காட்சிபபடுத்தியிருக்கின்றனர். தமிழ் மட்டுமின்றி அனைத்து மொழிகளிலும் உள்ள டிவிடிகள் கிடைப்பதாலும் திரைப்படம் தவிர கர்நாடக சங்கீத மற்றும் நாட்டியம் சம்பந்தப்பட்ட டிவிடிகளும் கிடைக்கின்றன என்பதாலும், பல்வேறு வயது வரம்பிலான குழந்தைகளுக்கான ஒலி/ஒளி இழைகளும் அங்கே இருக்கின்றன என்பதாலும் பொது மக்கள் பலரும் ஆர்வமாக வந்து வாங்கி செல்லும் காட்சியை காண நேர்ந்தது. புத்தகங்களும் தள்ளுபடியில் விற்கப்படுவதால் ஒரு added advantage கிடைக்கிறது.

வழக்கம் போல் நடிகர் திலகத்தின் படங்களுக்குதான் demand அதிகம். நான் அங்கே செலவழித்த இரண்டு மணி துளிகளில் நடிகர் திலகத்தின் பல்வேறு திரைப்படங்களை தேடி தேடி எடுத்தும், அங்கே இருக்கக்கூடிய விற்பனையாளர்களிடம் இல்லாத படங்களைப் பற்றி கேட்பதும் என பலரும் சிவாஜி படங்களை வேண்டும் என கேட்டு வாங்கி செல்வதை கண்கூடாய் காண முடிந்தது. ஒருவர் மணமகன் தேவை படம் வேண்டும் என்று பொறுமையாய் தேடி எடுத்து சென்றார். மற்றொரு பெண்மணியின் முகத்தில் வசந்த மாளிகை டிவிடியை பார்த்தவுடன் வந்த சந்தோஷத்தை பார்க்க வேண்டுமே! பலரும் மோட்டார் சுந்தரம் பிள்ளை டிவிடியை வாங்குவதை பார்க்க முடிந்தது. அது போன்றே உயர்ந்த மனிதன்! Moser baer டிவிடிகளில் பராசக்தி அந்த நாள் combination -க்கு நல்ல வரவேற்பு இருப்பதை காண முடிந்தது. கர்ணன் எப்போதும் போல் நம்பர் 1, closely followed by திருவிளையாடல்! தூக்கு தூக்கி, ஆலய மணி, ஆண்டவன் கட்டளை, பாசமலர் and of course புதிய பறவை என்று சொல்லிக் கொண்டே போகலாம்.

Murali sir, just finished reading Thaygam part 1.

Right from the ambiguity to release either Balaji's film or Muktha's (clearly highlighted VCS's upper hand, authority and dominance), acquiring the rights of the malayalam film, concern about nativity etc., and till the the successful completion on 119 days at Chintamani, your information-filled write up made for interesting read.

Details about films of other actors, films which had super hit songs, even hindi films (details like opening of new theatres Shakthi Sivam etc., was very interesting to read )and our own NT's other films ...just amazing write up...i think you must have covered almost all the films which got released during that period. Another testimony for your extra-ordinary memory power.

I was well aware that Thyagam was a super hit film (my father-in-law used to say) but to know that in spite of all those hurdles, Thyagam emerged victorious was great news. Thank you sir.

I wish i could share my views more elaborately here, but due to time constraint i couldn't. Will sure talk about it in details once we meet in person.

It was a very interesting article sir. Will catch up with part II soon.

I am sure none of the hubbers eloborate this much about the situations during the period of the movie releases. You know the magic of taking all of us to the exact period and to munch the sweet memories about them.

No doubt you are the asset of Shivaji sir's forum, and sure nobody can come near you, except Pammalar.

The list of Shivaji sir's films which have crossed 100 days and Silver Jubilee in MADURAI is excellent. (very celeverly you have covered his achivements from 1952 to 1978, the period of which MGR was also in the field. so nobody can claim Shivaji acheived only after MGR left). How talented you are.

Real way of fame spreading of Shivaji, you are doing from the very beginning of this forum. GREAT.
