The Artist, like The King's speech or Slumdog Millionaire, owes a lot to the producers/distributors who distribute/promote screeners for the jury. So well done Harvey Weinstein.
Found it to be boring this year. Thrilled for Farhadi. Dragon tattoo won for editing, so deservedly. Hugo, I'm yet to watch..
It'd have been nice for Portman to award Oldman. And in her speech, she noted the nuance & restraint portrayal of coldest(Antithetical of the coolest) spy. Two decade past since she witnessed live the tour-de-force performance of pill-popping murderous DEA agent. That was so loud that it'd break Smiley's owl-rimmed spectacles.
...an artist without an art.

Watched the repeated telecast last night. Slightly disappointed with Crystal. First Oscar show that I stopped watching early. Yawn.
