Imman Annachi turns busy

Television anchor turned comedian Imman Annachi is the flavour of the season when it comes to comedy in Tamil cinema.

In Kakki Sattai releasing next Friday, he will be seen throughout as the lead comedian with hero Sivakarthikeyan. The actor is also playing an important role in Ilayathalapathy Vijay's Puli. Sify.com had a quick chat with the actor and here is what he has to say about Puli.

“The film is shaping up well and Ilayathalapathy is extremely happy with the film's progress and yesterday (Feb 19), he had arranged for a grand biriyani feast for the entire unit. If the film belongs to period genre, this is what he had to say: “I really don't know as the director didn't narrate the full story to anyone except for the lead actors but going by the costumes and sets, I guess it is a period film”.

The actor also added that "Chimbu Devan has a bounded script and he knows exactly what each and every artiste in the team has to do. The dialogues will be different from usual Tamil film. One can't call it as Sanga Tamil (classical Tamil) or the modern day colloquial language, it will be something unique which you should wait and watch in big screen".

Imman is very excited about Kakki Sattai release as he feels that the film is a sure shot winner at the box-office.

Based on whatever we have heard so far it looks like a different attempt from Vijay. Only the title gives a deja vu Vijay film feeling. Based on Chimbu devan's track record we can be sure it won't be run of the mill. Actually this is the most unlikeliest of combinations :). The first look might give a clue to atleast what we can expect. If you look at the best scenes of Chimbu Devan's films he looks like one of the best in business. Somehow he only shows flashes of brilliance. Or maybe that is because he had to work within limitations of budgets and actors. But this is his best high profile mainstream chance so far to make a mark at the box office. I am quietly confident that this film will be way better than the initial apprehensions that Vijay fans might had or might be having :)

All this likes, dislikes, views have only become a factor for fueling fan wars in social media. I would rather have a Vijay movie having lesser genuine views on YouTube but more views by audiences in cinema halls when the movie actually releases and not the other way round.

Cedy... this is a new marketing strategy that's used by most big media and marketing companies. It's called MCN (Multi-Channel Network). It's aimed at increasing your viewer base by signing and creating an account with MCN - it results in increasing YouTube views etc big time. Sony seems to have stepped into this recently. They obviously have their own motive of marketing their products by using MCNs massive network. There is a decent write up on the Internet on how this works. Read it when you find time.

Yes bro. Even on the views, I don't know if they can use same accounts for different products, meaning I don't know if Puli would be used as part of the same MCN account. As for the likes, we know what happened to Aambala trailer too.. and the harsh comments... ;-). This whole trend of maximum likes, views are so misleading... I only wish these translated into the commercial success of a movie too. Then it would be worth tracking it. Right now, it is only used by hardcore fans; with no linkage to box office performance (unfortunately).

Looks like Puli will give a new dimension to Ilayathalapathy's career and the actor is trying out something different from his formula comfort zone.

Looks like the entire team is irked with the photo of the star actor being leaked. An annoyed Vidyullekha who is part of the cast has revealed that the team is highly disappointed and irritated. Actor Charandeep, who has teamed up with Tamil superstar Vijayfor the second time in the upcoming film “Puli”, says the latter’s encouragement on the sets gave him confidence to perform well.
“Vijay sir has no need to take the effort to help, but he did while working in ‘Puli’. Despite being a superstar, he helped me with my lines. He explained patiently how differently and effectively I can mouth my dialogues,” Charandeep, who had previously worked in last year’s Tamil blockbuster “Jilla” with Vijay, told IANS.

'Puli' goes to Cambodia!
Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s Chimbudevan directed Puli team will be flying out to Cambodia tonight to shoot two songs.Puli is a big budget action fantasy thriller that has Sridevi, Hansika, Shruthi Haasan, Sudheep, Prabhu, Thambi Ramaiah and many others in its star cast, with music by Devi Sri Prasad.
The buzz is that one song will be picturised on Vijay and Hansika at the Angkor Wat a temple complex in Cambodia the largest religious monument in the world. This song, a melodious number will be choreographed by Raju Sundaram.
Later the team is planning to shoot another song with Vijay and ShrutiHaasan in a different location most probably Sihanoukville beach for a peppy number.
Two weeks back, producer Shibu Thameens and art director Muthuraj had visited China and came back with the news that the extreme cold season prevailing there is not suitable for shoot. So they reworked the song shoot location and freezed on Cambodia.

The biggest fear I have for this film, besides the music, is the SFX/CGI. I just saw the Baahubali trailer and Puli has to be at least on par with that film and not, for example, Uthama Villian. I hope CD takes his time and give us a polished film and not a rushed one to meet deadlines.

As far as the movie is concerned, I've had my expectations in check ever since it was announced. VFX/CG and Chimbu do make me a bit nervous as far as the end product is concerned... But that may be just me and I hope and pray my fears are proven wrong after release.

Anyway as far as the pics are concerned, Vijay looks uber cool and even more fitter now. Good to see him probably put some effort to look leaner and fitter...from no angle does he look 40. Maybe preparing for cop role for Atlee project?
