I recall the first time we saw a semi-auto in Tamil film was Kamal's Sattam, which I am willing to bet is a Walther PPK, James Bond's weapon of choice (used again in Vikram). And its real (in sattam, in one scene when it runs out of bullet, the slide pushes back exposing the barrel). Exciting for us kids then having fedup seeing the likes of Major carrying those dreadful revolvers. And in Hey Ram, Kamal brought in that, oh-so-gorgeous Luger (incidentally, this was the gun that completes the 7 in OO7 logo, Kamal/Bondfan thingy must be investigated).
End of dig.
Now, I heard the last time that Kamal was one of few actors who actually licensed to carry handguns. Is it true, still? And the two gun I mentioned above must really belong to him...I feel. Guys?
*yahweh....my singular/plural thing still sucks, after years of writing. Oh Crom, heal me....
