A classic, by any definition, is a classic... Everyone wants and tries to imitate it;
some come close, bot nothing can match the original! Mukesh and Lata Mangeshkar
sang the original version of this classic; the lyrics written by Santosh Anand and
the lines tuned to music by Lakshmikant/Pyarelal, for the movie SHOR starring
(among others) Manoj Kumar, Nanda, Master Satyaji, Jaya Bhaduri, and Premnath.
Videos of performances of this song by tens or hundreds of other artists including Lata Mageshkar
herself, Nitin Mukesh (son of Mukesh), Jagjit Singh, Pakistani singers Sara Raza Khan
& Salman Alvi are available on youtube...!
Here is the (complete version of) the original:

Yesterday was Rekha's birthday, and today is Amitabh Bachchan's birthday. These two are one of my favorite on-screen jodi, so I'm posting some of my favorite songs featuring them.
First, a couple of songs from SILSILA (1981). This film was the last to feature Rekha with Amitabh Bachchan, putting an end to this popular on-screen pair and their rumored off-screen affair, forever. Over the years, it has gained strong cult following and today it is considered as a classic love triangle.
Dekha Ek Khawab To - SILSILA (1981)
Music: Shiv Kumar Sharma And Hari Prasad Chaurasia; Singers: Kishore Kumar & Lata Mangeshkar; Lyrics: Javed Akhtar
