It was said Kamal is no more threat to Vijay/Ajith in box office. What records are you talking about ? BO records or critically acclaimed ? First one need to be discussed whereas second one is not as Kamal has very good records and no other actor from his generation and current generation can break them.

Din't want to pull kamal one more time into this argument. Still want to clarify to guys like you. Of course anyone from younger generation can give consistent massive hits like kamal managed (I can give a page full of blockbusters until he was 40 years of age - for comparison sake). But the question, noone has done that now. If someone has achieved in Box office somewhere comparable to what kamal did until his 40, then we can compare. Even now, when the younger generation should have overtaken him by a mile in BO when he is over 60, he is holding BO records. That's the point here!
Why would anyone be talking about critically acclaimed stuff when discussing ajith and vijay man???

Kamal was never a 'threat' or a competitor to Ajith and Vijay
They are fierce competitors to one other. Even the recent so called poll if valid had one with just 3-4% more than the other ... Not a unanimous victor. Jilla-veeram neck-neck etc.
I guess if we had to compare (!!) then it should be apples to apples/oranges to oranges. Lets leave out the critically acclaimed part - there's no dispute there.
When it comes to BO records, again, are we comparing Kamal's best with the best of Ajith/Vijay ?
If so, then looking at the recents like VR, Dasa etc. they were only behind the SS movies in collections.
If we're comparing their mediocre/flop movies like MMA, then I'm not sure how sura or billa2 fared in the BO if that can be taken as a comparison.
Really we should leave Kamal out from all these comparisons.
